Nestled between the sparkling waters of Auckland's Waitemata Harbour and the Hauraki Gulf lies Waiheke Island, a summertime haven of native birds and hidden coves. It's a place that time forgot and the perfect location for Criselda and Wilbert's wedding celebrations, which had been postponed by the pandemic.
A Day of Exploration and Preparation
Stepping off the ferry a day before the wedding, Crisilda and Wilbert took the opportunity to explore the stunning coastline and scout for photo locations. This also meant witnessing the most incredible orange sunset over a rainy Auckland City, setting a picturesque tone for the festivities to come.
The couple, along with their adorable young daughter and close family, prepared for the big day at the Allpress Stays Ranch. The atmosphere was laid back and breezy, with the island sun shining down on the surrounding olive groves and the native birds twitting about. The sweetest moment of the morning was when Crisilda and Wilbert, all decked out for the first time, saw each other under the olive trees. It was a moment straight out of a fairy tale.
A Ceremony to Remember
The touching ceremony took place at St. Peter's Catholic Parish. Surrounded by their loved ones, Crisilda and Wilbert exchanged vows in a setting that was both intimate and grand. The love and joy in the air were palpable, making for an unforgettable moment.
After the ceremony, we headed down to a local cove for a bit of a photo adventure. The island's natural beauty provided the perfect backdrop for capturing the couple's love story. The laughter and joy shared during this time were genuine and infectious, making the photos truly special.
A Beautiful Reception at Mudbrick Vineyard
The day's final stop was the Mudbrick Vineyard, where the reception took place. The vineyard, with its unique and detailed decor reminiscent of Tuscany, provided a romantic and beautiful setting for the evening's celebrations. Good laughs, great drinks, and kind words filled the air as the couple and their guests celebrated into the night.
Celebrating and documenting Crisilda and Wilbert's intimate Waiheke Island wedding was an absolute blast.
