How did you get into performing at weddings, and what sparked your passion for this industry?
Performing at weddings felt like a natural extension of our love for storytelling through music. Weddings are deeply personal, emotional, and celebratory—everything we adore about performing. It’s a privilege to contribute to such a meaningful day, creating moments that couples and their guests will remember forever. What sparked this passion was witnessing the power of music to bring people together, to make them laugh, cry, and dance, all in one evening.

Couples often tell us they love how adaptable and versatile we are. Our setlist spans decades and genres, allowing us to create the perfect mood for every moment of the day. The acoustic touch paired with our multi-effects guitar processor brings a modern twist to classic songs, and our Spanish repertoire adds a unique, personal touch. Beyond that, we pride ourselves on reading the room and curating each performance to the energy of the event, ensuring every guest feels connected to the music no matter their age.

Over the years, we’ve seen trends come and go, but what stays consistent is the desire for something meaningful. Lately, songs like “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran and “Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish have been popular choices, blending modern vibes with classic romance.
That said, nothing beats a song that holds a story for the couple. It doesn’t have to be trendy, cool, or romantic to anyone else—what matters is that it’s meaningful to you. What is your favorite genre of music to play at weddings? Why?
It’s hard to pick just one, but soft rock and ballads hold a special place in our hearts. They bring out the romance and emotion that make weddings so unforgettable, perfectly enhancing those intimate moments. That said, we also love mixing it up with upbeat disco classics and lively folk tunes. These are the songs that get guests smiling, singing along, and tapping their feet—adding a fun, lighthearted energy that keeps the good vibes flowing all day long.
Do you have any advice for couples planning a wedding on Waiheke?
Embrace the island’s natural beauty—it’s the perfect backdrop for any wedding. If possible, plan to arrive on Waiheke a couple of days in advance to tune in with the pace of the motu.
